Note: Calcite is a 3 on the Mohs hardness scale which means it will scratch and damage easily. Being a soft crystal, it should not be left in water (but it can be rinsed off) and should not be left in direct sunlight for very long as it can cause fading. You can cleanse it using selenite, sound, or smoke for the "safest" results, but rinsing it under water should be okay as well as long as you dry it off afterward.
