Goldstone

Goldstone is a man-made glass. It is also called "aventurine glass", monkstone, or monk's gold.

It is made in a low-oxygen-reducing atmosphere. The most common form of goldstone is reddish-brown, containing tiny crystals of metallic copper. Goldstone also exists in other color variants based on other elements added. Cobalt or manganese can be substituted for copper. The resulting crystals have a more silvery appearance resulting in blue goldstone or purple goldstone. Green goldstone forms its reflective particles from chromium oxides. It has a Mohs hardness of 6. Goldstone is often mistaken for a natural mineral.

Is it possible for glass to have energetic metaphysical qualities? Some people say "NO!", but others note that obsidian, moldavite, and Apaches tears are natural glass and throughout history man-made glass has been used a great deal in a spiritual manner and religious ritual, as glass is able to form a transparent and reflective barrier, deflecting unwanted energies, it is said to represent spiritual protection.

Care: You care for it just like you would glass. It can be easily scratched, but it can stand being cleansed in water and soil just fine. I would leave it out of direct sunlight as it can fade color. Other cleansing methods are selenite, sound, and smoke.
